NADINE BARTON

Miami, Florida

Nadine, born in California, raised and trained in Miami under Elizabeth Acuna Nuevo and Lissette Salgado Lucas, was recognized in competitions like Youth American Grand Prix, earning Gold in 2011 semifinals and participating as a finalist in New York. At the American Dance Competition she won the Traditional Excellence Award for the pas de deux of Giselle Act II, and the Honorary Fernando Bujones Excellence Award. Some of her roles consist of Myrtha from Giselle, Coffee of Balanchine’s The Nutcracker, Big Swans in Swan Lake and Queen of Dryads from Don Quixote. In 2012, Nadine became a finalist of the YoungArts organization. This past summer Barton was one of 60 dancers worldwide to join Netherlands Dans Theatre’s Summer Intensive. Nadine has premiered new works with Arova Contemporary Ballet, Alabama School of Fine Arts, and is commissioned to set on the company in the spring for Ovation. Nadine coaches young aspiring dancers and teaches at Alabama Ballet and Corky Bell in Homewood. She is happy to return for her fifth season.
